Established in 2005, the program at our Vinton Ave facility provides transitional supportive housing for up to 16 chronically homeless and/or disabled veterans who may suffer from mental illness and/or substance abuse.
Veterans in this facility reside in shared quarters with the goal of overcoming veteran homelessness, mental health disorders and substance abuse problems to achieve societal reintegration. A community area on the first floor provides space for social services groups, socialization and meetings for group counseling. Referrals occur through the VA in Memphis and other transitional housing programs after clients have completed their initial treatment program.
Some of the services provided by the staff include:
|• Regular assessment and monitoring
• Timely mental health and medical referrals
• Life skills training
• Food acquisition and meal delivery
|• Personal financial management skills
• Employment Services
• Obtaining benefits
• Transportation Services
